Lakota Hope Ministry

I am joining staff with Lakota Hope Ministry as their community outreach coordinator. I want to use this space for to give a brief overview of what it is we do.
"Lakota Hope seeks to mend the spiritual and financial poverty of the Lakota people. By ministering to the homeless, promoting native artwork, growing gardens, hosting prayer meetings, working with volunteers and distributing food, Lakota Hope spreads God’s message of unconditional love among His people." ~from Lakota Hope's website
Bruce and Marsha Bonfleur
The Ministry is run by Bruce and Marsha Bonfleur. Besides myself, the Bonfleurs are the only staff members of Lakota Hope. Bruce and Marsha have been serving the Lakota people since 1998. Their ministry has taken a variety of forms throughout the years, including teaching at a christian school, running a thrift shop, job creation, hosting short-term mission teams. Even now, they continue to dream up innovative, creative ways of ministering to their community with various new programs and projects.
Right now Lakota Hope has been working to help Lakota artist's and crafters create websites to sell their work, so that they can make a more solid living. They are also building a bunk house to house mission teams who are doing service projects for the Lakota. Over the summer they will be hosting mission teams for various service projects, and hosting an outreach every Tuesday, and I will engaging in Ministry to the street people in Whiteclay.
